Love You Forever, written by Robert Munsch is one of the many children's book I hold near and dear to my heart. It is a beautiful story that encompasses all ages. It describes the unconditional love a mother expresses for her son through a song during different stages of his life. Most importantly, she reaches her elderly years, which she can barely whisper the song to her son. It is at this point, he begins to sing the same song she sang to him for many years. The same night he goes home to his newborn baby and begins this tradition with his own child. Although this is a wonderful story to share with my preschoolers, I also share it with my 15 month old daughter. My daughter was born with cystic fibrosis and I pray that she lives long enough to in turn read this book or maybe her own story to me when I am up in age. I also pray that she is healthy and blessed to have her own children and do the same with them.

My students absolutely love this story. They love to hear me sing this song. I often laugh because I hear them later on in the day singing the song. This book presents so much information to children at a young age, in a way that they can understand an apply to life. Great choice!
